More examples of lenticular clouds |

![]() These two great pictures of a red lenticular cloud over Hawaii were sent to me by Nooney who took the photographs at approximately 4:30 on Sunday, January 19, 2003. It was hovering above Mauna Loa when Nooney first noticed it at around noon and it remained intact until she could no longer see it due to darkness. Nooney took the photographs from her house in Mountain View on the Big Island. This is a spectaular example of how a process of continual change can appear to be a stable object. |
